Alberto recently visited The Pastures Primary School in Narborough to present ten-year-old Max with a special prize for being awarded the winner of the MP's Annual Christmas Card Competition.
Max’s colourful design was crowned the winner of the MP’s Christmas Card Competition this year. His design, which depicts Santa flying on his reindeer-drawn sleigh flying through the night sky caught the judge’s eye and took the top spot.
Lydia, 5 from Cosby Primary School was and Esme, 9 from Swinford CofE Primary School were named as runners-up for their excellent designs.
The South Leicestershire MP will use Max’s design on Christmas cards sent to hundreds of parliamentary colleagues, constituents and local businesses this year.
Alberto said “I am always delighted to see how much artistic talent we have locally when the designs start coming in to my office.”
I’ve already sent Max’s Christmas card out to colleagues, constituents, and even the House of Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle who signed a copy of the card for me to present to Max.
“I would also like to thank some of the fantastic runners up, particularly Lydia, Esme and Isaac for their stand-out designs, and of course all those pupils from across South Leicestershire who entered.
“My sincere thanks too to our excellent sponsors this year, Jenno’s Coffee House and Roseacre Pub Company, who were very kind in sponsoring my competition. Running and organising my Christmas Card Competition is one of the highlights of the year, and I am hugely grateful to all the local schools that took part.”
