Alberto has been elected chair of the Committee on Standards after MPs voted for select committee Chairs.
The Committee on Standards is a cross-party committee that oversees the work of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards. Alberto was a member of the committee for four years in the previous parliament.
Alberto said: "I am delighted to have been elected as Chair of the Committee on Standards. I look forward to working with my parliamentary colleagues across the House and with the Committee’s lay members in taking forward the very important work that the House has entrusted to the committee.”
